I have taken the 1st steps in participating in the slow food movement…..purchasing farm fresh eggs:] By buying locally grown meat, eggs, veggies etc. you control where your food comes from. (I also find knowing the chickens these eggs came from are happy and free range comforting.) Most important you are supporting family farms. I know first hand what a struggle it is for the family farm to stay afloat in today’s world. To visit the little place that is always in my heart click here ----------------------------------------------------------------->www.wix.com/JessaD/Farm. (I grew up here I didn’t know then how lucky I was or how much I would miss it until now.)
If you would like more info on the slow food movement visit this site http://www.slowfoodusa.org/.
To Find locally grown food right here in Rapid City visit the farmers market http://blackhillsfarmersmarket.com/ or to find locally grown meat and other goodies check out http://www.eatwild.com/products/sodakota.html.
There are also several small hobby farms around the RC area offering eggs. If you know of specific Facebook pages or websites for hobby farms not listed on eat wild.com feel free to list the below.
Eggs pictured in the blog where humanely raised at the K&R Ranch located in Rapid City!:) Thank you for reading.
